Ladies and Gentlemen...
I now introduce to you, the 110th Justice of the Supreme Court of the United States,
Associate Justice Samuel Alito. He was formally sworn in by Chief Justice of the Supreme Court John Roberts. He will join the other eight Justices for tonight's State of the Union address.
Associate Justice Alito was confirmed by 58-42 party line vote. It is sad that Alito, probably the most qualified judge to serve on the high court, had the vote like this, unlike the former ACLU lawyer Ruth Bader Ginsburg who got about 98 "Yea" votes. Sadly, partisan politics overrule qualified judges.
Hopefully, the country will move on from the vile partisanship of this and come together to better this country.
